How I Find Calm in a Busy World (You Can Too) | Simple Living on a Finnish Farm — VIDEO

I get chills just writing the word “hurry” in the title. It’s something I deeply dislike, something I don’t function well under, and something I try to avoid at all costs. And yet, somehow, it still slips into life, no matter how hard I resist.

Well, maybe it’s not exactly hurry—after all, each of us can define for ourselves what that word means. But lately there has certainly been a lot to do, and it has made me reflect on time: how it passes, how it fills up, and how we choose to use it.

Out of that reflection, this video was born—while I was out in the forest picking blueberries, gathering currants from the yard, and steaming juice to store for the winter.

These kinds of simple, hands-on tasks ground both body and mind, letting thoughts wander their own paths. That’s exactly why I love living here on our old farm, even when life gets full of work.

Working with my hands, honoring traditions, and moving with the cycles of nature bring me back, at least for a while, from the noise and rush of the modern world into the beauty of simple things.

In the video, I explore these thoughts more deeply—and perhaps offer a few gentle ideas for how you, too, might find peace in the midst of modern life, no matter where you live.

May your autumn be peaceful and deeply grounded.

🖤 Sanna
