Winter is here! My simple — and maybe even a bit boring — everyday habits (VIDEO)

Winter is finally here – and it’s wonderful and magical and beautiful. It’s been about half a year since we last had it, but we are winter people. We love the crunch of snow under our feet, the trees cracking in the cold, and sitting in the snow by a campfire. It feels like being alive.

In this video, I’m sharing some everyday winter routines in an old farmhouse on the edge of the northern wilderness. At the same time, I reflect on the “boring” parts of life, and that occasional urge to explain that no, it isn’t boring — even if it might look like it — as well as what boredom actually means in a meaningful life.

The digital world gives us such a distorted picture of human existence on this planet. As if everyone were constantly living the best moments of their lives, or at least creating something new and extraordinary. Almost nowhere do we see the background work — the dull grinding and slogging — that often makes the great moments and new creations possible. Behind them are hundreds, even thousands of hours of something very monotonous, the kind of work no one on social media holds their breath for. But it’s exactly those boring tasks and quiet hours that set us apart and take us far.

In the video, you’ll get a glimpse of the winter wonderland that has finally arrived. It covered everything in a sugary frost, froze the lakes, and hushed the landscape. You’re welcome to join me for a completely ordinary day — even if it is a bit boring. Welcome 🤍
