Introvert's Haven: Embracing Quiet Winter in Finland – VIDEO
Winter has quieted so much. The landscape, nature, everyday life — me. It feels like time keeps slipping through my fingers, even though nothing particularly extraordinary is happening, and there’s no real rush to get anywhere. Quite the opposite.
Being six months pregnant has slowed everything down even more. That’s taken some adjusting. I’ve always lived a fairly active life. By “active,” I don’t mean weekly workout classes, extreme sports, or constant traveling. I simply mean that I’m used to doing things, moving, going places. That’s how I relax, and it brings me joy. But now — especially over the past few weeks — even ordinary daily tasks have started to feel like an effort. All I can really do is quietly adapt to this slower and slower rhythm of life.
In the video, I share glimpses of our everyday winter life, now moving at an even gentler pace. Walks through snowy forests and across the frozen lake by our home. Slow morning moments that mean so much to me. Baking and reading — something I’ve been doing a lot lately. I’ve been revisiting a few Finnish classics lately, and oh… they are just so good. I love long, immersive stories, especially ones with a hint of history and a touch of adventure. If any books like that come to mind, I’d be so happy to hear your recommendations 🙂
I hope your winter (or whatever season you’re living in right now) has been calm, healthy, and kind to you.
See you soon.
